I have been sitting here wondering the best way to manage everything I have to do in order to successfully organize myself for the week. Tomorrow morning I will be going to see one of my favorite clients in Boca, and once I’m done there I have to deal with going through graduate clearance. Tuesday is relatively open. Wednesday I pick my mom up at the airport, and do a presentation for my Campaign Advertising class that evening. Thursday is Portfolio Review and graduation. Friday I get to start breathing again.

For those that don’t know, Portfolio Review is the big deal. All graduating students are to be there with their work to show prospective employers (and give the continuing students an idea of what they will be doing when they graduate, and what kind of work they will have to show for their time at AiFL). As I will continue freelancing as well as my education after graduation, I will not be there hustling for a job, unlike many of the other students. I am looking at this as an opportunity to shine, and show my work.

And I’m looking forward to Friday, when it’s all over.

Well, Thursday was Faculty Review at AiFL for us graduating Graphic Design students. Myself, Dan Day, Priscilla Giler and Idil Godze were nominated for Best Portfolio awards. I was nominated for Best Print as well as Best Digital. I am pleased and grateful; I honestly didn’t expect to be nominated for Best Print, as I knew some of my competition and felt their work was stronger than mine, so I gunned for Digital, which I knew I had a good shot at.

Jamie Brawer was also nominated for some awards for the Advertising program, and she will also be our graduate speaker this quarter. I know she’ll rock, as usual!

So, if anyone is actually reading my blog, please cross your fingers for me…..
